Guomindang/ Nationalists
Guomindang was the political party founded in 1911 by Sun Yet-Sen. It governed China under Chiang Kai-Shek from 1928 to 1949. When communists took power and gradually became the official ruling party of Taiwan.

Chang Kai- Shek
Chang Kai-Shek, otherwise known as Jiang Jieshi,was a nationalist and he unified the country of China. He purges the communists that started a civil war that little did he know, would last for 22 years.He emerged as a leader of the leftwing of the Guomindang party. This rightwing of this party was a threat Chang. Chang did not take charge until his army was ready for the Northern Expedition. The expedition's purpose was to defeat the many war lords that were operating in central and northern China. The purpose of this expedition was being achieved as the army neared Shanghai in 1927. Chang's army went to Shanghai and decided to take care of the communist threat to his control of the nationalist party.
